COVER FEATURE: SLIPPERY SID
Slippery Sid may have hit shelves in 1983, but its young creator, Simon Godwin, had already crafted it the year before. And now, over forty years on, we’re diving back into his wonderfully slithery arcade caper and seeing how early ZX Spectrum games were made back in the good, old Eighties.

THE SINCLAIR SIN-BIN
Strap in for a gloriously grubby rewind through the ZX Spectrum’s most laughably titles – those pixelated disasters forever enshrined in the pages of Sinclair User magazine. Scrapping the bottom of this issue’s bin are: Computaword, Eskimo Eddie, and Strike Attack. Oh, dear… this bin smells awful!

SECRET SQUIRREL INVESTIGATES
He’s a cheeky little fellow who can’t resist hacking into Speccy games. This time he’s sunk his claws into Anfractuos, Booty, and Slippery Sid. Some very revealing messages and surprises.

DEVELOPERS’ DEN: SIMON GODWIN
Many of you will have never heard of Simon, but if you’re a die-hard ZX gamer, then you will no doubt have played one of his early games. We catch up with Simon and chat about early ZX game development on both the ZX81 and Spectrum. He has a fantastic story to share, which you’re going to love!

HIS WORK IN PICTURES: SIMON GODWIN
A visual celebration of Simon’s work from the early Eighties.

OLDIE GOLDIE: BYTE BITTEN
Another ZX Spectrum favourite steps onto the Oldie Goldie stage — this time it’s Firebird’s budget oddity Byte Bitten. The gaming press of the day didn’t quite know what to make of it, but Vinny and Dave dive in to share their own memories, verdicts, and a few surprises along the way.

NEW & EXCLUSIVE POKES ‘N’ CODES
A small collection of homegrown POKES ‘n’ CODES for you to enjoy, along with an explanation as to how they manipulate the game code. This time around they include Rescue Rocky, Byte Bitten, and Slippery Sid. We’ll make game hackers of you yet!

BYTE-SIZE REVIEW: RESCUE ROCKY
Rescue Rocky has become one of our favourite ZX Spectrum games of recent months, so we thought it was only right to spread a little love for this charming arcade‑rescue caper from KTB Productions.
